Inspire: Laitinen

This is Laitinen, absolutely brilliant. The elegantly yet exacting deconstruction of the form, the beautiful and raw fabrics, the emersive subtleties of the patterns and the melancholic colour scheme of the designers collection make it stand out with an aire of distinct integrity and individuality, an oasis in the creative desert of the world of runway fashion. My personal creative vision has been profoundly affected by Laitinen's use of fabric and detailing- an interesting middle point bettween the aesthetic minimalism of modern fashion and the more traditional fabrics and techniques in producing each garment. Laitinen is a veritable diamond in the rough if you ask me.

"Laitinen’s dark aesthetics combine northern melancholy with precise cuts,
luxurious materials and subtle detailing. Before combining their efforts to
form the label, Anna practiced fine art and Tuomas worked as a fashion
writer and stylist, after graduating from the prestigious MA Fashion Course
at London’s Central St. Martins in 2004."

Ps. My head has been killing me today, and the weather is so fucked up! I wish we could have spring weather for more than 24 hours!
